The principle of luring light-sensitive flying insects by ultra-violet
light has been used for many years. This is a highly effective method
to lure all types of flying insects by placing a high-intensity
ultra-violet light source in the centre of a unit and surrounding
it by a high-voltage
(3 000 volts) electronically charged grid.
Any insect, no matter how small, has to pass through this grid
when approaching the light source. Upon passing through or coming
into contact with this grid, the insect is effectively and ecologically
destroyed, the remains falling into a collection tray for subsequent
disposal.
On removal of the catch tray, the electricity to the UV tubes and
the electrified grid are disconnected.
As the average flying insect enjoys a life cycle of 14-21 days,
it will be found that approximately two weeks after the Supa-Kill
E.F.K. machine has been installed, the incidence of flying insects
will be greatly reduced.
The Supa-Kill Electronic Fly Killer machine must be used indoors
and can be used in butcheries, food services and processors, hotels
and caterers, hospitals and druggists, homes and factories, mines
and mine compounds, stables and milking sheds, and parlours etc.
